Rev. Dr. Louise Beamon, Associate Minister

Dr. Beamon was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. James Matthew Miller. She professed her belief in Christ at age eight at St. Mark Baptist Church where she was baptized with a desire to be used in the service of the Master. She brought this desire to be used of the Master with her to Second. Minister Beamon organized the Church Library Resource Center and has served as pianist. Christian education is her vocation and field of training.

She completed the Master of Arts degree in Christian Education in Ashland, Ohio, at Ashland Theological Seminary in 1997. Shortly thereafter, she was employed as Minister of Education at People’s Community Church until 2004 on staff under the mentorship of Rev. Dr. Martin E. Bolton, Senior Paster. Returning to Second in late 2004 to resume service, she was licensed to preach by Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Kevin M. Turman and appointed to serve on the ministerial staff. Dr. Beamon is retired from the Detroit Public School System and the mother of six children; Michael (deceased), Teresa (professional name Nkenge Zola), Tonya (Ntianu), Henry, Jr., David, Bruce, and Lance.
